Chicago

Lord, Bissell & Brook LLP was founded in Chicago in 1914.  Since then, we have grown to over 250 attorneys and 250 staff in our Chicago office.  With a full complement of corporate and litigation attorneys, our Chicago office provides a comprehensive range of legal services in such areas as insurance, real estate, intellectual property and technology, corporate, business litigation, labor and employment, mergers and acquisitions, and finance and securities.  Our clients range from publicly traded Fortune 500 companies to closely-held family businesses.

Our trial lawyers try cases nationwide involving almost every type of civil dispute.  We are trial counsel in high exposure commercial disputes, such as class action defense, securities, patent, trademark, antitrust and bankruptcy cases.  We also represent foreign and domestic insurers in some of the most costly and vigorously contested disputes currently being heard in American courts.  We have developed a unique specialty in the corporate representation of insurance companies and other regulated financial services companies.

Our attorneys are leaders in the Chicago community and offer their time and support to a great number of local pro bono organizations, including Chicago Volunteer Legal Services, St. Procopius Legal Clinic, Pro Bono Advocates, the Center for Disability and Elder Law and the Circuit Court of Cook County Juvenile Division Children Pro Bono Project.  In addition, our attorneys serve as directors on the boards of local community organizations, businesses and schools such as the Chicago Lighthouse for People Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired, the Jewish United Fund and WBEZ Alliance, Inc.
